NFIB/Tennessee supports exemplary pro-small business leader and entrepreneur in special election
The National Federation of Independent Business, Tennessee’s leading small business association, has endorsed Mark White in the special election in House District 83.
The endorsement was made by NFIB/Tennessee SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.
“Mark White is the standard bearer of NFIB’s membership in Tennessee,” said Jim Brown, state director of NFIB/Tennessee. “His above-and-beyond activism for small business and his passion for free enterprise are exemplary. Our members have the highest regard for his devotion to supporting small business principles, his community and his employees, which helped secure NFIB’s endorsement.”
White has played a pivotal role in fostering small business activism in West Tennessee as chairman of NFIB/Tennessee’s Memphis Area Action Council and statewide as NFIB/Tennessee’s Leadership Council chairman. His peers selected him as the Solveras/NFIB Small Business Champion for Tennessee in 2008.
White recently sold his business, Grand Events & Party Rentals, but remains active in that business and with WyreStorm, a recent technology venture specializing in home theater components. He and his wife, Kathy, are founders of the Global Children’s Educational Foundation, which helps less fortunate children to achieve a meaningful education.
“I am grateful for the support of NFIB, which is the Voice of Small Business,” White said. “I know firsthand how NFIB protects and promotes free enterprise in Nashville and Washington. My campaign is focused on shielding small business from onerous regulations and new taxes and ensuring state government runs in a fiscally responsible way, especially in these difficult times.”
The House District 83 primary is scheduled for Dec. 1, with the general election to be held Jan. 12. The district includes parts of Germantown and East Memphis.
NFIB’s endorsement is critical to the White campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged it will activate its grassroots network on behalf of the White campaign. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small business issues.
